What is ODM/OEM and how can we have these cooperation?

There are multiple ways of cooperation in international trade between 2 or more businesses in different nations, for the manufacturers like Risingstar and other LCD panel makers, we usually have 3 ways: ODM/OEM/OBM

Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)

The most famous OEM enterprise should be Foxconn, which is doing OEM for Apple, Microsoft, and other famous electronic device companies.

Design, produce, and sell with the brand, Foxconn and any other OEM businesses will only doing produce part, then there are 2 ways in front of them: focus on manufacture to become the best OEM company or transform to an ODM.

Risingstar as an LCD panel manufacturer also did this OEM work before, and we are still doing this for the customers who believe we can make the same product better.

Original Design Manufacturer (ODM):

ODM refers to the situation where a manufacturer designs a product that may be favored by other companies, who may require it to be produced and sold under their own brand, or slightly modify the design to produce and sell it under their own brand. The former is commonly referred to as the ODM of the latter.

This is a way for the enterprise is planning to enter a new industry, or a top-class business in this industry planning for a new product series with lower cost.

Recently, so many famous phone makers such as Xiaomi have entered EV industry, of course, they did not have the ability to make EVs by themselves, they cooperated with the new EV enterprise to get the EV technology and their own popular brands to open the market.

This also can be called JDM (Joint Design Manufacturer), a higher level of ODM, because of the Centre control system of the EV was from Xiaomi.

ODM is the most common way for Risingstar to cooperate with our customers, our LCD panel or Window facing display can reach customers' requirements and has high adaptability in complex environments whether the train cabinet or digital signage under scorching sunlight.

Original brand manufacturer (OBM):

All process is finished by one business itself, its brand, design, production, and sell, in usually the OBM business should be larger than a certain scale, especially in the manufacturing industry, such like LG.

Risingstar also printed our Logo on some of our products and sold them to Europe but depending on requirements of our customers, which means our primary cooperate way is ODM.
