The small-sized display charging station is the most basic charging device on the market, usually equipped with a simple 7-inch screen, mainly used to display basic charging information such as charging capacity, charging progress, cost, etc. The design of this charging station is relatively simple, with the main function focused on charging itself, suitable for fast charging scenarios, and users can complete charging operations in a short period of time.

The advantage of small-sized display screens lies in their low cost, simple operation, and suitability for installation in places with limited space or budget. However, due to the small screen size, its functionality is relatively limited and usually requires manual assistance to complete payment and other operations. This charging station looks similar to a traditional fuel gun in appearance and mainly relies on staff for management and maintenance.

Charging stations equipped with medium-sized display screens (such as 21.5 inches) are called "interactive stations" or smart charging stations. The functions of this charging station far exceed traditional charging stations, and its large screen can provide richer information and interactive functions. Users can directly view detailed charging information on the screen, including battery status, estimated completion time, cost estimation, etc.

In addition, the charging station for medium-sized display screens also supports multiple payment methods, such as QR code payment, card payment, etc. Users do not need to rely on staff to complete the entire charging process. This charging station also has intelligent monitoring function, which can communicate in real-time with the vehicle's battery management system (BMS) to ensure the safety and efficiency of the charging process. Its larger screen size also provides users with a more intuitive operating experience, improving user satisfaction.

The charging station for large-sized display screens is closer to digital signage. This type of charging station is usually equipped with a display screen of over 55 inches, which can not only display charging information, but also play multimedia content such as advertisements, news, weather, etc. This design makes the charging station not only a charging device, but also a platform for information dissemination.

EV charging pile intergate with digital sigange

Charging stations for large-sized display screens have significant advantages in commercial applications. For example, in shopping centers or parking lots, advertising functions can bring additional revenue to charging station operators. Meanwhile, this charging station can also provide personalized services through interaction with users, such as recommending nearby restaurants or shops. Its powerful display function and interactivity make it an important development direction for future intelligent charging stations.

Display engineering, thermal design & technical documentation — Shenzhen, China

The RisingStar Engineering Team is the technical core behind every display we ship. Based at our 4,000 m² ISO 9001-certified facility in Shenzhen — home to a Class 10,000 cleanroom — our engineers have specialised in high-brightness, sunlight-readable LCD technology since 2009, covering optical design, thermal management, structural sealing and system integration.

Working directly with Tier-1 panel partners including LG Display, AUO, INNOLUX, BOE and Tianma, the team tunes luminance from 500 to 5,000 nits, engineers IP65/IP66 enclosures, and validates 24/7 performance across a -20°C to 70°C operating range with a service life of up to 50,000 hours. Every unit leaves the line under 100% factory inspection — from 7" panels and open-frame modules to 100" outdoor totems and ultra-wide stretch bars.

Our engineers also write and review the articles published here. Instead of paraphrasing marketing material, they draw on hands-on deployment experience in outdoor advertising, retail window displays, EV charging, transportation PIDS, food processing and industrial HMI — so specifiers and integrators can choose hardware on verified figures.
